Sergovic & Carmean, P.A. was founded in December 2007 by John A. Sergovic, Jr., former shareholder and managing partner of Sergovic & Ellis, P.A. and Shannon Carmean. Burton, formerly Shannon D. Carmean, former associate attorney at Sergovic & Ellis, P.A. Our firm expanded in number, as well as practice areas, ir 2012 when we welcomed David J. Weidman, and amended our firm name to Sergovic, Carmean &
Weidman. P.A. In April 2016, Smith McCartney & Owens, LLC, a Delaware law firm, merged into Sergovic, Carmean & Weidman, P.A. As a result of the merger, we welcomed attorneys Deirdre A. McCartney and
Shannon R. Owens as well as George B. ("Buck") Smith, who is of Counsel, and the firm name was
changed to Sergovic Carmean Weidman McCartney & Owens, P.A. Harold W.T. Purnell, II. joined our firm ir 2018. Tyler Friedman joined the firm in 2022 as a law clerk and in 2023 he was sworn into the Delaware
Bar.
