James Martinez, the owner of and instructor for Firepoint Training Associates, makes unprofessional comments/jokes and uses unnecessary physical contact without consent/warning during his sessions. He made the students, particularly the women, in my class noticeably uncomfortable when he would use them to demonstrate CPR, lifts, recovery positions, etc. As I (female) was lying on the floor waiting for him to demonstrate the recovery position, he, without warning, flicked me hard in the cheek and nose, and stuck his fingers in my mouth and wiggled my lips around to demonstrate "checking to see if someone is responsive". I felt violated and embarrassed at what had happened to me in front of a group of my peers. His actions are an abuse of his position as a certified instructor, who has manikins to use for demonstrations. I would not recommend that anyone use his business to train themselves or others in CPR/First Aid.
