Kosciusko is located on the Natchez Trace Parkway and was named for Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a polish engineer who served George Washington during the Revolutionary War. The town was originally named "Red Bud Springs" for one of the three natural springs present in the city. Kosciusko is home to Magnolia Bible College, and was the birthplace of Oprah Winfrey.
